August saw Channings Wood host our first-ever Celebrating Success event. This was an opportunity for staff to nominate a prisoner for an exceptional achievement such as significant improvements in behaviour that is helping to aid rehabilitation for both themselves and others.

1/2 Delta Hotels and Only a Pavement Away visited HMP Styal’s Bistro to conduct an employment awareness presentation, letting prisoners know about the many opportunities in hospitality available to them for employment on release. This was followed up by a masterclass delivered by

Last week I spent time in Leeds with staff from across the YCS family - from YOIs, secure children’s homes, the secure training centre and wider sector.

Process evaluation of the offender accommodation pilot at HMPs Bristol, Leeds & Pentonville finds the provision of tailored and consistent one-to-one caseworker support within custody and the community was seen as a key factor in the success of the pilot.

🥳We are the first prison to officially hold a national plant heritage collection!
A great achievement for us and the women who have helped with setting this up. They have looked after them and learnt about the plants. We are so proud of them and our gardens guy, Gary 😀🌸🌲

#CommunityService helped build a rememberance Garden of Angels for bereaved mothers at #StColumbsPark house. The Garden is to remember babies who passed away before or shortly after birth.
It was recently opened by @dcsdcouncil @mayordcsdc

Lancaster Farms Catering Manager was invited to Number 10 Downing Street for afternoon tea to recognise her contribution to prison catering. We are extremely proud of her and her team. Well done!

What a fabulous 20th anniversary event at HMP Dartmoor. Huge thanks to everone who helped to organise it and to all the guests who attended. Our patron, Sir Terry Waite, gave a powerful speech about imprisonment and how important it is to maintian contact with loved ones.

Even the best don’t always succeed. Not in an overcrowded, full and underfunded prison system. The Governor, her team and those they lead are exceptional, they are the best.

They continue to have our full support, respect and admiration for what they are trying to achieve.

Keith’s first arrest in the 1980s was of a child for stealing a packet of crisps.

Ever since, he’s made it his mission to prevent children from entering the justice system in the UK.
