While most media coverage of the sector focuses on the negative, the @HiddenHeroes_uk Twitter account is used to share positive stories about prisons, IRCs, probation and youth justice services, and the #HiddenHeroes who work in them.
August saw Channings Wood host our first-ever Celebrating Success event. This was an opportunity for staff to nominate a prisoner for an exceptional achievement such as significant improvements in behaviour that is helping to aid rehabilitation for both themselves and others.

What a fabulous 20th anniversary event at HMP Dartmoor. Huge thanks to everone who helped to organise it and to all the guests who attended. Our patron, Sir Terry Waite, gave a powerful speech about imprisonment and how important it is to maintian contact with loved ones.
Even the best don’t always succeed. Not in an overcrowded, full and underfunded prison system. The Governor, her team and those they lead are exceptional, they are the best.
They continue to have our full support, respect and admiration for what they are trying to achieve.
